Writing college applications is a big job especially when you are eyeing your dream colleges, the so called Ivy League. Letter of Recommendation (LOR) is the most potential source of powerful testimonials to a student’s stories and could greatly influence the decision of the admission committee.

Letters of recommendation are important to admissions officers because they provide contextual interpretation of your academic performance. LORs share critical insight into your work habits and learning style as well as your ability to respond to challenges and setbacks. LORs can help you explain irregularities in your academic program and lags in performance and could shed light into key factors that define your learning environment.

Recommendation letters are one of the crucial most documents that an admission committees require to assess your application. Admission committee do not have the luxury of interacting and interviewing each candidate and thus they treat these recommendation letters as crucial means to judge your abilities, your strengths & your weaknesses.

Usually three recommendation letters are requested along with each application form – One academic and two Professional. In case of an aspirant who has not worked anywhere till date can take LOR from the company where he/she might have completed his/her intern-ship or take LOR from another professor.
