Overview of the NEW GRE Test Format: What You Need to Know

Exciting news for GRE aspirants! ETS has introduced significant changes to the GRE test format, making it more streamlined and time-efficient for graduate, business, and law school admissions. Here's a breakdown of the key changes and what you should expect from the NEW GRE pattern:

GRE Test Duration: The NEW GRE General Test is now designed to be completed in under 2 hours, a significant reduction in test time compared to the previous format. This transformation positions it as the quickest and most convenient choice for prospective graduate, business, and law school students. You can now register for the updated test format, with testing commencing on September 22, 2023.

Key Changes to GRE Format

Analytical Writing:The "Analyze an Argument" task in the Analytical Writing section has been removed, streamlining this part of the test.

Quantitative and Verbal Reasoning:Both the Quantitative and Verbal Reasoning sections have undergone changes, including a reduction in the number of questions to enhance overall efficiency.

No Unscored Section:The unscored section, which was part of the previous format, has been eliminated to simplify the testing experience.

Swift GRE Score Reporting:An added benefit of the new GRE format is that test takers can now expect to receive their official scores in just 8-10 days, providing faster access to crucial information for their graduate, business, or law school applications.

Revised Test Structure

Analytical Writing for GRE Preparation:

The Analytical Writing section now consists of a single task lasting 30 minutes, which requires responding to specific issues with precise assignments.

Quantitative Aptitude GRE:

Section Breakdown: Two sections, with the first containing 12 questions and lasting 21 minutes, and the second featuring 15 questions with a duration of 26 minutes.
